After a fuel tanker exploded early this morning (8600 gallons of gasoline!), southbound lanes on I 880 (from 16th to Broadway Avenue) are still closed. The accident happened at around 6:15 a.m. today when an Acura smacked into the big rig, which prompted the truck to flip and go ka-boom. Fortunately, no one was injured. Caltran doesn't know when they'll be ready to open the lanes of of 11 a.m. this morning. We'll update when the interstate reopens entirely. (SFGate)
