Maybe they'll expand Kaiser hospital by using that space. It really ticks me off when I have to get a referral at the clinic building at 2238 Geary and forces you to visit the 6th avenue medical building.

I voted for everything EXCEPT: TJ's (it's right there), WF (it's down the street & maybe closer if it gets built in the Haight), massive whore house (sorry fizz), housing (unless they throw in some non-luxury rentals) and Ranch 99 (I hear good things, but TJ's is right there).

The ironic point about having it be a SEARS is that it was a SEARS from like 1950 whatever until it became Mervyn's. For preservationist SF that would make it a restoration.

TheCharlie: I honestly thought you were kidding, because I have joked for years (because I am HEElarious) that Mervyns and Kohls are indistinguishable. Which, granted, with the launch of Kohls' El Cheapo Vera Wang, maybe they're not. Tell us more about why we need a Kohls, please. xyz123: I can't speak for my spouse to be porkbun, who dreamt the bowling dream, but I wouldn't personally advocate publicly-funded bowling alleys. If the City can't get Muni right, I'm not ready for what they'd do to lanes. Just because the ones we've had have closed, doesn't necessarily mean that one that's done right would suffer the same fate -- especially given the support y'all SFist readers are giving it. What do you guys think, is there a way to run a bowling alley that would make it a success in the City?
