Time to head to DSW to buy those ugly Kenneth Cole shoes. See, the Shoe Pavilion, at one time known as the "largest independent off-price footwear retailer on the West Coast," is closing its doors. While the shoe emporium is HQ'd in Sherman Oaks, they have over 25 stores in the Bay Area. This most recent folding comes on the heels (heh) of Hayward-based Mervyns calling it quits. Worse yet, this comes right after Skechers opened another spore in Union Square last Thursday. Seriously, stop with the Sketchers, folks. Because that is some rank footwear. (CBS 5)

Week Around the Ists

I got a 20% discount on the shoes I bought at the Sketchers grand opening last weekend. Does that mean I am now wearing "rank" shoes? Is that good or bad?
But if I don't purchase my shoes at the Shoe Pavilion I'll have paid too much.
There you people go again confusing price with value. If you buy a pair of $80 Sketchers you look like you're wearing shoes paid for by your medical insurance. So the value of them is effectively zero. If you commission a pair of Jeffery-West chain stitched Chukkas your friends' wives want to do the horse of hector with you in the bathroom at the Gymboree.
@icbalaam:
We're already paying too much for diamonds, now that we can't get them from Paul.
