Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier is kicking it on the steps of City Hall right now (10 a.m.), introducing a measure that asks stores (Safeway, Whole Foods) to ban baby bottles containing Bisphenol A, which could kill your little blessings. Bisphenol A was formally declared a hazardous substance in Canada this month, as well as the FDA saying was "some concern" when it comes to babies Bisphenol A overlap. But according to "a spokesman for the tin can industry," lining cans without the Bisphenol A-based resins, E. coli and botulism poisoning would increase dramatically. Anyway, just give your baby a glass bottle instead. (SF CItizen)

And besides, Tommy Lasorda endorses the company that makes Bisphenol A.
"On the steps" is a bit of an overstatement, no? ;)
"Kicking it"?
Michela Alioto-Pier is paralyzed, you cruel, cruel person.
Umm Brock. Awk-ward.
Someone oughta pull the battery out of her Funicellomobile and leave her stranded out there on the steps for pigeons to hag out on...
ok, all. leave the wheelchair out of the comment thread. please.
Why? Handicapable and handicapped people are equal under the law. By attempting to be politically correct in issuing a decree that her wheelchair is off limits, you establish Alioto-Pier as being not equal to you or me. Why does she deserve special treatment like a special person when she herself as an activist for the wheeled folk would reject this distinction as condescending and patronizing? Why do you hate the handicapped, Brock? Any attempt to protect Alioto-Pier on the basis of her physical ability is just bowing down to the patriatchy.
Look on the bottom of your plastic bottles. If there's a "7" inside the triangle recycle thing, toss (er...recycle) it.
Most baby bottles (and every other kind of plastic container) are PET plastic "1" which is safe (if used correctly...like don't boil them idiots).
These scare tactics, especially aimed at moms, are getting ridiculous.
