Financial District Murder

At Howard and Beale streets (near Beale Street Bar & Grill!) a man was found stabbed to death a little before 11 p.m. last night. The victim was killed while walking the street, apparently. No arrests have been made. Not further info is available. This brings the SF murder toll for 2008 to 95. (SFGate)

Is there a pool somewhere for guessing what day the 100th will happen?

feel free to start the bidding, withak. (although, fyi, there are discrepancies with the correct number. msm reports the number to be somewhere below 95.)

"i'm gonna have to say $420 Bob"

Given that the phrase occurs in so many of these posts, may I suggest that you abbreviate "no arrests have been made"? NAHBM would work, and so would FAIL.

I read this on sfgate and wondered, is that really the Financial District now? I thought it was SOMA.

To be sure, Beale and Howard is a weird area with the homeless camping around the Greyhound station. Not that street people are necessarily violent, but...

It is not SoMa culturally, but it is in fact south of market street.
Fidi generally up until around the museums on 3rd.

Way back when ... Rincon Hill used to be 100 feet higher at 2nd and Harrison than it is today ... anyway, I consider the area the Rincon Hill neighborhood (even if the hill has been cut down by 100 feet to make way for commerce and then a big bridge and then further for highway crap).

Good news! They have a suspect in custody.
