We can't stop touching this wall whenever we go get coffee at Ritch and Brannan. Every morning. Carefully molesting it. We're obsessed.

What is it, shellacked? Glazed? Anybody know more about it?

Could it be a wall that used to be covered with something else before?

In which case, the cardboard could have been used for insulation, much as Platinum LEED-certified buildings use recycled denim, etc...

Great - now I'll have wait even LONGER for my morning coffee.

I just noticed it myself about a month ago, but I don't know if that was me just being oblivious (this is pre-caffeine uptake) or if it was installed that recently.

This is a temporary art installation that was made from cardboard and recycled paint. It's an abstraction that was loosely inspired from the pixelated pastels of city from the top of Twin Peak in late afternoon. Everyone always asks me what will happen to the cardboard when it rains and my answer to that it is 'I don't know!'
