SFist Tonight

meatballs%20soma.jpg

FOOD: Starting today, SOMA restaurant Zaré at Fly Trap will host Meatball Mondays. What is that, exactly? Basically, executive chef Hoss Zaré’s will be making meatballs the size of a large grapefruit, stuffed with seasonal, fresh ingredients. Whoa, is right.

open until midnight // Zaré at Fly Trap (606 Folsom)

FILM: A bored housewife (Catherine Deneuve) of a filthy rich doctor spends her days wearing Yves Saint-Laurent and exploring life as a high-end whore in a chic Paris brothel in Luis Buñuel’s Belle de Jour (1967). It's like, imagine Vanessa Getty working at Les Nuits de Paris. But in French.

7 p.m. & 9:10 p.m. // Clay (2261 Fillmore) // $10.50

MUSIC/CLUB: Hit the stage like the star you think you are at Big Stage Karaoke over in SoMa, hosted by the lovely Eileen. (This is more of a rock et roll kind of club, so save the selections from Gypsy for Martuni's.)

9 p.m. // Annie's Social Club (917 Folsom) // free

READING: Commie-pinko scribes Diane Di Prima, Kim Nicolini, Cameron McHenry, Giovanna Capone, Ed Coletti, and Thomas Centolella have the nerve to tarnish good name of Christopher Columbus at an Anti-Columbus Reading / Book Party. (Free wine to go with your whine. Har.)

7 p.m. // City Lights (Columbus & Broadway) // free

grapefruit sized meatballs = a pound of seasonal veggies wrapped in a thick meat layer?
