SFist: Mother's Cookies lives on in T-shirt form

I can't believe I didn't know Mother's was closing! this is so sad! My late grandfather started out his career at Mothers washing cake pans, and by the time he retired in the early eighties he was the president of the company. My grandpa is the one who came up with giving away the baseball cards, if anybody remembers that from back in the day. He was the sweetest, funniest, goofiest, most loving, kind hearted, decent guy, and Mothers has always been dear to my heart because of my memories of him. It's been really sweet to see little reminders of him whenever I'm in the cookie aisle at the store, or I'm on BART approaching the coliseum about to see the giant mothers factory mural pass by... He retired when I was really little but we always had Mother's cookies around the house and at family events and holidays, even at his service we had a huge spread of Mothers cookies. This sucks. I need to go to the store and see if I can get my hands on any of the frosted oatmeal...

"Hipster wanksock"!!! That's the best laugh I've had all day, Belgand. As for the cookies... haven't had them in probably 15 years. Tasty, of course, but I never enjoyed the weird film the frosting left on my teeth. Ew.

Hmm... I prefer the Keebler frosted animal crackers actually. I also refuse to wear a shirt that will in any way associate me with that hipster wanksock modeling it.

Tasty treat from my childhood? These things are (were) a tasty treat from like 3 days ago that I will be sad to see gone. On another note, I think I can safely blame these fine cookies for a family member's diabetes.
