Bakesale for Obama in South Park Today

The employees over at Chronicle Books will hold a bake sale for presidential candidate Barack Obama (aptly titled Bakesale for Barack) over in SoMa this morning. For those of you with low blood-sugar level Democrats who are not at home celebrating Christopher Columbus "discovering" America, head over to South Park today between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 to buy a sweet treat/raise funds for Obama's campaign.
Update: We were told that the bakesale is happening "in South Park," but if that's not the case, then you can find CB a block away from South Park, right here: 680 2nd Street.

sounds more like a promo for Chronicle books.
but I do like cupcakes.
chronicle books is on 2nd street. that's not south park.
;)
i was told "in South Park," but if that's not the case, you can find CB a block away, here: 680 - 2nd Street.
it will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the campaign has to hold a bake sale to fund obama
preaching to the choir...how about having some sack and going to a red state to work for obama -- much more important than raising $452.78 for his campaign.
No books will be sold at this event at South Park. It's not actually sponsored or official through Chronicle, we (some employees) just wanted to raise some money for the campaign.
The more money the campaign has, the more they can campaign in those much needed red (or undetermined) states.
This campaign about hope, and we're doing what we can. People took their own time and money to bake some delicious treats like mini pecan muffins, mud pies and yes cupcakes. Hope you like :)
Obama has like 500% the cash that McCain does, is this really necessary?
oh, you guys are no fun. i'm going to go buy a cupcake. hrumph.
Oh, quit yer griping and buy a cupcake. Sheesh.
It's in the park. Across from Centro.
@manys: Yes, every little bit helps. When people in the hinterlands are still, this close to the election, saying "I heard Barack Obama is a muslim/terrorist" then yes, he needs every penny he can get.
Perhaps, but why not have a bakesale in the hinterlands then?
Because not everyone has the freedom to drop everything and trek off the hinterlands to throw a bake sale.
Evidently, just going to Reno won't even get you to the hinterland/red states this time around. Nor anywhere Virgin America flies.
Which is, good.
@Manys: Yes, it's absolutely necessary. It's like any scene in a teeny monster movie, where they don't behead Jason or whatever, and sure enough, it comes back to life.
We have to make sure that Obama wins. It'd be tasteful if he donated any excess money to a charity afterwards, and rely upon term #2 to be based on performance from term #1. If I think I know anything about Obama, he just may do something like that.
When I first saw Palin, I logged into obama.com and gave until it hurt. She's a great fundraiser for Obama.
