District 9 Supe Debate In Vague Review

After a few beers at Dolores Park, and with Mission Mission in tow, SFist went to last night's District 9 Debate. And it was OFF THE CHAIN. OK, not really. But there were a few moments of note during last night's debate between the candidates looking to fill the gaping hole Tom Ammiano will leave behind when he bids the D9 adieu.

Moderated by Sweet Melissa's sharp-witted Melissa Griffin -- who tamed an increasingly batshit insane and "sssss"-emitting audience with a few careful words -- candidates David Campos (gay I), Eric Quezada (salt & pepper haired leader of unruly, yellow t-shirt denizens), Eric Storey (public housing hater, has fivehead), Eva Royale (whoa), Mark Sanchez (gay II), and Tom Valtin (JROTC-loving Bela Karolyi) all pitched their platforms and answered questions, vying to rule the Mission District, Bernal Heights, and Portola.

And speaking of batshit insane: Eva Royale. Seriously, she will cut a bitch. Royale spent the entire night flipping back her long black hair, rolling her eyes when other candidates spoke, and looking like she'd rather be at home blowing rails and watching TiVo'd Mad Men than dealing with this civic crap.

She scares us. We love her.

Oh, and they all talked about, like, issues and stuff. But what with the booze in our system and the unpublishable, inappropriate texts Beth Spotswood sent us during the debate, we can't remember said important-y issues and stuff. So please, check out Calitics, SF Weekly, Mission Mission, Spots, and SF Citizen for further details about last night's D9 debate.
