What's Going On Here, Black Monday?

Courtesy of (a triumphant) Jameth, these meow-ish posters, promoting progressive celebrity Cindy Sheehan, could be found all over SoMa this morning.

One more reason to not vote for Cindy -- she litters telephone poles with an excess of saran wrap.

It's kind of amusing that Sheehan is considered a progressive celebrity.

E list, maybe.

Progressive? Uh...yeah

*nods and smiles*

a celebrity among p-towners, then?

frank chu is a celebrity.

@dole - the saran wrap usage is indeed disturbing

I walked through SOMA on my way to Rainbow and these posters are littering the gutters and intersections for several blocks.

"Eight hundred fifty dollars reasons"? That doesn't make any sense at all.

Sheehan is dead horse beater with her obsession over ending the war. Ending the war is so 2005. She needs to drum up a couple other issues to blather on about. All the same, I plan on voting for her if for no other reason than I despise the insufferable Pelosi creature and long for her to be toppled from power and tossed upon the ash heap.

In 2004 I did a get out the vote thing in Nevada and Cindy Sheehan came to talk to all the volunteers.

It was her and Sean Penn talking to us. She was amazing.

Pelosi lost my vote when she pushed through this nation destroying give away to the rich. Now I'm on the hook for thousands of dollars to very wealthy people who squandered their own money. This is outright theft and she put her stamp of approval on it.

Sheehan is a good person, down to her core. I know that from having seen her speak, having met her and spoken with her. She came out to Reno Nevada to encourage all of us to continue knocking on doors. She bared her heart for all of us as she broke down into tears about her son who was killed during a war based on a lie.

Ask yourselves honestly, what has Pelosi gotten you besides a new tax bill and subway nobody wants?

The answer is nothing. At least with Cindy I'll know a real human being is in congress, a real human being who shares my priorities.

Fuck Sheehan. There, I said it.

@generati, not at all doubting Cindy is a good person. I'm convinced she is. However, a good person does not an knowledgeable, effective leader and legislator make.

And for a moment consider the very real fact that neither you nor I can truly understand all of the reasons Nancy's taken this path. I'm trusting that she knows more about the process than you or I. And consider that Cindy is one of us.

I like the devil I've got.

Well, I hope the City's sending her campaign the bill to take all that shit down today. Aren't there enough haters in the world to do with Cindy Sheehan? Where's that Supervisor candidate that's all in to hugs ... maybe she can go give Cindy a hug and then kick her in the balls, telling her stop allowing her campaign to vandalize the City's light poles ..... assholes.

i dont want that kook in any sort of public office.

also, isnt it against the law in sf to post political campaigning posters on telephone polls, street lamps and lights?

I should run for this district. Would you got fore me? I am part of the Lemon Party.

oh god I can't spell i have the dumb

@jameth: no, I'm a rei-saru fan. ;-)

admitedly I have to wonder if the selected yellow as her campaign's color because it matches her teeth... http://www.cindyforcongress.com/

"I'm trusting that she knows more about the process than you or I."

Hmm, that's basically the same thing Britney Spears said when asked about Bush. It's also how all the pro-war senators justified their actions later. Not exactly confidence-inspiring.

Trust a politician? I don't think so.

She was "amazing," generati?

And how was the Kool-Aid?

It's to the point that I'm willing to take the alternative. Pelosi has continually let us down by refusing to push for impeachment, by voting to continue funding the war, by not taking a strong anti-war position, and by pushing hard for the bailout. She needs to be removed from office for her complete failure to listen to the needs of her constituents. She cares far more about maintaining a position of power and keeping that secure than she does about representing us. Pelosi is simply another Newsom and we need her gone.

Now, when do we get the chance to get rid of the distressingly conservative Feinstein? I can't believe she was ever able to make it even in local politics.

I believe most everyone here are hardcore party-line Democrats, but isn't it time to vote for somebody different, for a meaningful change?

Pelosi takes S.F. voters for granted (does she even campaign here?), and her focus is on the national stage, not on the things San Francisco cares about (in other words, she's way out of touch with her constituents).

I agree with Malcove and Belgand. These democrat politicians take voters for granted because they think we have no other choice. Kick a few of their asses to the curb and that should drive home a message. Make them earn their offices by living up to the ideals the party supposedly espouses.

It's the same thing we all indulge whenever we vote so you can chill on sanctimonious posturing.

Cindy is just a left Sarah Palin, no experience, limited in topics, but her supporters lover here for who she is.

I may indulge in many things when I vote. Trusting my leaders is certainly not one of them.

bluecanary, you might want to go back and read these posts. You've entirely lost the plot.

Pelosi sells her soul for a seat at Bush's table, on which, of course, there's no impeachment. She took an oath to uphold the Constitution and then failed to act against the most impeachable president and vice president we've ever had. she has a rash across her throat from looking over the back pocket of G. W. Bush.

Cindy certainly doesn't have the experience of lying, cheating and stealing, but she has the experience of being on the butt end of what this corrupt government brings -- death to our children, collapse to our economy, spying on our friends, etc. Anyone anywhere can help unseat Pelosi and put a crack in the two-party monopoly by electing Cindy Sheehan. Visit http://www.cindyforcongress.org to find out how.

Good observation redseca2, but I wager that Sheehan has even less experience than Palin.

@Brock Keeling

You're just made because I'm constantly calling you out on your inept snarkiness that just comes across as assholish behavior.

Yes, Cindy Sheehan was amazing, that was my opinion then, 4 years ago, before she EVER talked about running Nancy Pelosi out of congress. You seem to mistake an opinion for joining a cult. Once again Brock's snark = FAIL.

you've "made" my day, generati.

@Elizabeth

Cindy Sheehan wants to be a member of congress, not Vice President.
