@manys

Yes, I know. That is what makes it sarcasm. Someone was caught in a high-profile murder related to the increasing problems with gang violence that this city has been experiencing and the SFPD didn't have anything to do with solving it. The guy turned himself in in another state. Way to go SFPD!

I realize how hard it is to catch these people, but SFPD presence at anything other than a civic event where masses of them are getting plenty of overtime is almost non-existent. They fight continually for raises and they don't patrol transit (as they're allegedly supposed to... a while back on City Desk Newshour Bevan Dufty gave out his cell phone number and asked people to call him if they ever see a cop on a bus... I know I never have), they fight against foot patrols, and they mainly just stay in their cars in a city where that's probably the least effective means of patrol.

I'm not saying that all officers are bad as I can't comment on them individually, but I will blame the union, Heather Fong, and the rest of the administration.

guess getting ass raped day-in-day-out is preferable to ending up with your head on a pike in front of the hells angels clubhouse.

I never knew that Tom was both a Norteno and a Sureno.

He's awfully white to get caught in the middle of a little playground fight between the Central American folk, no?

Belgand: If you read the story you'll see that he surrendered in Oklahoma. No SFPD work necessary.

So "Suspects have been arrested"? Wow, this is a first for the SFPD. Nice to know that when it came down to it they were able to put in some solid police work and catch him.

Oh and why don't we get a link to the story here? Just an old SFist link and a Mongols website link? C'mon Brock, sources.
