Breaking News: $700 Billion Package Passed by Senate

With 345 to 163 votes in (with 26 votes left to be counted) 263-171, it looks like the emergency economic rescue bill is all set to go, which was just passed by the Senate moments ago a little after 10 a.m. Republicans didn't vote for it as much and the Democrats, of course, but...there you have it. So, do you feel rescued? (SFGate)

You mean House. The Senate already passed it.

House or Congress.

for shame.

Here we go, everybody!

Because I know the bill passed through the Senate earlier this week and because I know the Senate has 100 members and because this post lists the vote count at 263-171, I'm gonna have to Pantsgolem and say yes, this is in the House of Reps, not the Senate.

Now, was that in Art.1 or Art.2 of the Constitution?

And we should totally give Alaska back to the Russians. Like yesterday.

Am I a lone madman who thinks the $700billion would have been better spent wiping out all debt to medical insurance companies then 70% of the mortgages would not go into default and we would not be in this mess in the first place. No I'm not alone, Hillary thinks this too, but there you go. Universal heathcare is un-American, socialist, and this sort of global meltdown is far more preferable. They're all wankers.

I'm with you fizzandpop. And quite frankly, I never looked at my paystub before (dumb, I know), but when I saw how much I am paying to prop up this Iraq bullshit AND how much I pay for my healthcare, I seriously about lost bowel control.

If the government thinks we should bail out Wall Street, why don't they use the money we're flushing down the toilet every month in Iraq to do it? I love Sarah Palin telling all the voters to "live within your means" when we can't even get our elected officials to do the same thing.

But Hillary Clinton was hardly pushing single-payer universal healthcare. THAT would be Dennis Kucinich, the only candidate who REALLY has a pair.

SF Gate has a list of other things $700 billion would buy. 6 years of univeral health care would make me feel much better. Literally, I tore a ligament in my foot and the bills keep rolling in.

So what pork did Pelosi bring home to SF? If she's going to sell us out, I hope it was for something good.
