Tom Perkins' Maltese Falcon (one of the largest yachts in the world: 289 feet long ["almost as big as a football field"], 42 feet wide, and around 20 stories high) cruising by Alcatraz Island this afternoon. Read more about it here.

That yacht is amazing. I went to Baker Beach today around 2pm, and I saw it emerge from the fog out over the ocean on its way into the bay. I guess there were a ton of people who knew it was coming, but I had no idea what it was. The 3 giant (20 stories!) sales were very impressive. That thing made all the other boats look like toys.

Yes it was Massive.

holy poopies! I was on a 150 footer and that seemed like a mansion on water - 289 feet must be massive. damn!
