Hey, the California Academy of Science's new digs open this weekend. Here's a delicious take on their nifty new roof, which you know is INFESTED WITH SPIDERS.

In related news, the footage we posted on the California Academy of Science's albino alligator arrival is back. If you recall, we posted this footage on SFist in August, a week before the Chronicle published its own aggressively dull story on the new CAS opening. An editor at the Chron threw a temper tantrum, so they had the footage removed by CAS PR. (Way to earn those Pulitzer, guys!) Anyway, check it out; it's an exciting watch, for sure.

The Academy is back again! Again again!

This isn't really relevant to anything, but does anyone remember the LAST time an albino alligator came to SF? At the zoo? In 1996? Those were some good times...

Again! Again!

I detest spiders almost as much as I detest that purple teletubbie. Referring to that purple beast as gay would be a compliment.
