Oh hey, it's PARK(ing) Day today. This one-day global event happening every year revolves around temporarily transforming metered parking sports into temporary public parks. Artists, activists, and citizens all like to get involved. In these mini parks you can find downtown workers playing in inflatable pools, layers of sod spread out, design firm creations, treats being offered to passersby, and more.
Be sure to check them out during your lunch hour. These mini parks will be all over town. And since it's all done improv style, you'll have to find the parks yourselves. Alas, there is no map.

Where is SFist Park?
where can you find a map or listing of which spots will be transformed into "mini-parks"?
anyone know?
Yeah, where are they?
That website is useless.
I happen to be in New York this week, and I can tell you there's a nice one with real sod on Thompson between Prince and Spring in SOHO, though that might not help y'all. Still, fun!
There's one at the corner of Sacramento and Front.
I saw one outside Ti Couz around 10:30
Alright, I'm not sure if my first post went through (apologies if this is duplicate)

Has SFist done a study that found its readers are spectating 9-5ers rather than the types who would be organizing something like Park(ing)day and not be at work on a weekday afternoon?
I passed the putting green one on the way to werk today, awesome.
The Mark Sanchez campaign has an awesome park outside their headquarters (Valencia between 21st and 20th) including a lemonade stand and psychiatric help for 25 cents.
Seems the west side was completely excluded from this event. On the other hand, they've got lots of real parks.
