THEATER: This looks fun: "The runaway cult hit makes its San Francisco debut, starring the incomparable Matthew Martin and his camp cohort Mike Finn. See what happens when a drag headmistress and her cross-dressed minions put on a musical of Moby Dick to save their beleaguered girls’ school." (Moby Dick! The MusicalOpens tonight, runs until October 12.)

8 p.m. // Theatre Rhinoceros (2926 16th Street) // $15-$40

MUSIC: So does this Silke Tudor-recommended event: "For the last decade, the Music for People & Thingamajigs Festival has endeavored to pull the avant-garde into public focus. This year, the much-expanded festival offers concerts, workshops, a marathon musical picnic, a gallery exhibit," featuring Toychestra, Chris Brown (professor of music at Mills College), the Norman Conquest, and the Wreck of the Old Number 10.

8 p.m. // The Luggage Store (1007 Market) // $10-$15

FILM: As does this:Thrillville's Shatfest: Tribue to William Shatner. Tonight's screening is White Comanche (1968) in which Shatner "brilliantly portrays twin half breed Indians - one good, one evil!"

9:15 p.m. // Cerrito Speakeasy Theater (10070 San Pablo, El Cerrito) // $8

the little boobies with the neckties look like ding-a-lings.

It's a real f---ing shame that SFist can't find a replacement for Krissy.

Aw, thanks for remembering me, mpantone. :) I'm still alive, btw. Back in SF, still love SFist, and still keep up my blogs.

actually, mpantone, eve batey started sfist tonight and did it brilliantly until she left for higher ground.

but, agreed, krissy is missed. rumor is she'll do an occasional posts too!
