Coffee Cups for Dolphins

cup.JPGAs we struggled to survive an interminable meeting this afternoon, we turned in desperation to the pale coffee available in the corner of the room. The "coffee" itself had no effect, but the strange design on the paper cup woke us up.

What could be the meaning of this bizarre pictograph? It seems to us to be pro-litter! (SFist waxes indignant on the topic of litter here and here.)

Our top three possible intended meanings:

1. Dispose of this cup only in grates marked "Drains to Bay."
2. This cup turns white under the gaze of happy dolphins.
3. Palmolive softens hands while you do the dishes, and fish live in it.

HA!

Is it me or does that dolphin look like it could stand to miss a meal or two? It's not exactly... svelte.

Gosh, I never really wanted a tattoo before, but now...

how does a dolphin know what cups is?

Its probably fat and full from eating all of the cups Kainoa.

Dolphins may think they want your cups but is bad for them.

I'm with kmsinsf, it's dolphin food.

If you feed one it'll jump out of the water, perform a couple of flips and grant you 3 wishes.

drop cups into the ocean for dolphin intelligence testing and show good manners by raising your pinky.

@kmsinsf: you are exactly right. and the cup-makers KNOW this. it's dual purpose, first it holds coffee, then it feeds dolphins.

what the hell?

i want these cups for my office. please find out where i can get them.

Haha, love it. Maybe dolphins drink from cups too?

...'during recession times, even doplhins love to be highly caffeinated'...

Maybe the picture is actually working in reverse. The two light colored squares lead up to the dark square, meaning, "Hey, what if you could rewind and not have thrown that cup into the Bay?" Too bad you already did, I guess. Maybe next time.

Wow GefilteFish, thats totally thinking outside the box! I like that theory.
