I cannot believe this has gone on as long as it has. For months now I've been waiting for them to set up a few nets and then tear-gas the kids out of the tree. The patience of all the officials has been nothing less than awe-inspiring.

As somebody who walked through the grove nearly every day and spent over a year living directly adjacent to the tree protest. As someone who has met and spoken with, and actually befriended a number of the tree protesters, I feel like I have a particular perspective on all the drama taking place around the oak grove. And I have to say... I can't wait to see spray those hippies with some sage scented mace and cut the damn thing down. That or let the frat guys just go nuts on them with bb guns. In any case I think the University should cut down an old-growth redwood/oak every half hour they remain up there. Even if they don't come down, at least they will have cleared out a spot for their next building and avoided another future embarrassment like this one. What a tremendous waste of time and money this has been.

Like I said, it's a deposit, so there will be no "money" involved per se. I'll put it into escrow to be released when you bring me...oh god I'm feeling nauseous even contemplating what we'll have to go through to get proof.
