Cal Tree-Sitter Money Shot Expected Today

Whether pro or con saving the oak tree grove on the UCB campus, it's safe to say that we're all looking forward to seeing just how how the last few tree-sitters are extracted. This morning, cherry pickers and scaffolding have been fashioned around redwood tree where the last few remaining protesters sit. (And below? Protesters this morning are benignly screaming like children, banging drums, and burning sage. Jesus.) While campus authorities decline to say when or how they plan on getting them down, we're going to go ahead and say tranquilizer darts sometime this afternoon. Stay tuned! (Oh hey, there are 20 some odd magnolia trees ready to be ripped out on Third and Harrison streets in San Francisco, activists. Just so you know.)

I will put a 20% deposit down on the bay area home of your choice for the first person to fuck one of these hippies fresh from the tree.

oh my.

Hmmm. Lemme see the $400K first, then I'll check to see if there are any chicks left up in the tree.

when cal gets the new work out center they'll be running out of excuses for why their football team chokes with such regularity.

@ fizzandpop

I want to see the money first.

Like I said, it's a deposit, so there will be no "money" involved per se. I'll put it into escrow to be released when you bring me...oh god I'm feeling nauseous even contemplating what we'll have to go through to get proof.

I'm gonna bet on the taze.

As somebody who walked through the grove nearly every day and spent over a year living directly adjacent to the tree protest. As someone who has met and spoken with, and actually befriended a number of the tree protesters, I feel like I have a particular perspective on all the drama taking place around the oak grove.

And I have to say... I can't wait to see spray those hippies with some sage scented mace and cut the damn thing down. That or let the frat guys just go nuts on them with bb guns. In any case I think the University should cut down an old-growth redwood/oak every half hour they remain up there. Even if they don't come down, at least they will have cleared out a spot for their next building and avoided another future embarrassment like this one. What a tremendous waste of time and money this has been.

I cannot believe this has gone on as long as it has. For months now I've been waiting for them to set up a few nets and then tear-gas the kids out of the tree. The patience of all the officials has been nothing less than awe-inspiring.

people get tasered for less.

This will for all time define the word sophmoric for me. Like playing house except playing protest.
