Another Mission District Shooting Victim Dies

Giovanni Lechado, 28, the man who, along with another his wife, was shot while sitting in a car at 18th and Bryant streets, died at SF General Hospital last Friday morning at 11:50 a.m. This brings the SF murder toll to 79 for 2008. In related news, Police Chief Heather Fong swears she'll increase Mission Street police beat and add patrol cars to areas of concern in both the Mission and Ingleside nabes. Fingers crossed, everyone. Oh, and no arrests have been made. (SFGate)

Why does Fong always looks shit-scared?

can we start some sort of poll or bet that Fong and her staff let SF hit 100 murders this year?

I'm taking a break from crossing Mission to head down 24th Street. One guy I talked to last week who lives near 24th & Treat is thinking about moving because he doesn't want his kid to be in danger.

There have been too many shootings in the last two weeks. Philz Coffee, Dynamo Donuts, and all the various taquerias & other 24th Street food spots: I miss you!

Good thing we successfuly kept gentrification away!
