The CCPOA are thugs who would just as soon see CA bankrupt like the blood-sucking cops in Vallejo. Arnold is incompetent and corrupt, but who on earth would the 'powerful' CCPOA want in his place? Feinstein would give into their demands in a split second, she never saw a special interest with millions she didn't pander to. It's evident that Newsom could be bought pretty cheaply, a couple of private jet rides so he and Jen-Jen don't have to fly commercial and a green-washing photo-op is about all it takes. CCPOA doesn't have enough to buy all the lib dems in addition to the repubs. so what is the point xcept revenge that Arnold refuses to give into their thug tactics. I don't see how any good came come out of this, but I hope CCPOA spend a wasted $1M on it.

Having camped at lake Berryessa I am well-versed in the ways of California prison guards and their offspring. Massive truck, bald head, tiny penis, goaty beard, wife with fake tits, rapist teenage children. These pond-life should not be allowed anywhere near the political processes of us humans. Not sure about the retards part, but the fact that folks are transient and don't get past the cover of the book when voting sure makes for some harmful voter initiatives and measures. With San Francisco being predominantly renters who may or may not stick around beyond the end of their leases, it is no surprise our school board is full of pathetic gas bags who want to bitch about the war instead of promote policies to foster better education for the kids in Chinatown, Bayview/Hunter's Point, and Western Addition. Ballot Box Budgeting, like the housing thing tossed up by Supervisor Daly (Proposition B, I think?) is HORRIBLE governing - horrible. What the hell do you and I know about how this measure will reverberate to effect peoples' lives? I spent the first 30 years of my living just outside of Detroit - I'd hate to see San Francisco head in that direction too, property left to rot because groups of people won't do what's in the best interests of the community at large and only want to serve themselves.

Oh sure, splitting up the sixth largest economy on the planet would really go so far in making the state more manageable. What nonsense. As a fifth generation Californian I find the very notion offensive in the extreme. California will never be divided. What we need to do is abolish the ballot initiative process. Direct democracy never works in societies populated by 85% retards. Just look at the disaster unleashed by Proposition 13. Why the average citizen thinks they have greater knowledge on how the state should be run than the legislators they elect is beyond me. Let the legislature do its job, unhindered.

Anyone who pisses off the prison guards union in this state must be doing something right. They are the most powerful lobby in Sacramento and have successfully pushed for the construction of more prisons and tougher drug laws. The fact that Arnie hasn't given in to their bargaining demands is a huge win for Califonians in my opinion.

It'd be great to see Arnold recalled. Recalls are mostly BS, but that's how he got into office, and he hasn't solved the problems he thought justified the first recall. Really, California should be split up to be manageable.

Yeah, because the budget is all Arnold's fault... as opposed to the fault of voters who think they know more about fiscal policy that career politicians. Yay for lack of budgetary discretion and a grumpy self-righteous union. It's not going to get better until we enact some serious legislative reform.
