Gross Weather Prompts Another Spare The Air Day
No, keep it out. Please. It's just too hot.
The National Weather Service has predicted record highs throughout the normally crisp Bay Area. (Boo!) That mean today is a Spare the Air day (the 13th one this year!) During Spare the Air days, you sweaty, hot, sticky people are asked "to take transit, minimize driving, turn up the thermostat on their air conditioners and avoid using aerosol sprays or gas-powered lawn mowers." Alas, there is no more free public transit on these day. Read more about today's insufferably melty weather here.

Hopefully the air conditioning on BART and the metro will be working, I have to take this to get to the Giants game tonight.
Seriously Brock, this is one of the few occasions where we have nice weather out here are you just completely incapable of appreciating anything over the frigid 60 degree weather we normally have? Is being able to open your windows or walk outside some sort of personal problem?
Remember those kids in The Others? Yeah.
I adore it when Brock hates on the heat. Some of us moved to cold climes for a reason, yo.
Our usual weather prevents these activities?
@travin
Yeah, it actually does. It's usually pretty damn cold here. If I opened my window it would be freezing cold in my apartment in about a minute. If I go outside I need to bundle up against the cold even in the middle of July. It is freakishly cold almost all year even in our cruel joke of a summer, but on the one or two times when the sun actually comes out and the weather creeps up into the low 70s we start getting complaints about how hot it is. 72 is widely regarded as a pleasant temperature, 60 typically is not.
Ahh, you must be new here. I don't have those problems even living in the sunset. I almost never use heat and sleep with open windows, so I can't relate.
Down in Oceanview it's still damn cold. Especially for someone for whom summer used to be their favorite season. Then again I'm much happier with 82 than I am with 68. Hotter I can deal with easily, but not colder.
