Looks likes there was some sort of benign "peace march" to make people feel good. Cool. Looks like everyone had a good time.
Can you spot the war protest stereotypes in this picture? We count five.

LOL.
Hmmm, I see scowls, knit-caps, bearded guys with glasses, questionable facial hair in general, posters with bad handwriting, what else am I missing here.
Anyway, it always surprises me that we've seen almost the reverse of what we had in Vietnam: the longer it went on and more of a clusterfuck Iraq became, the fewer the number and smaller the size of protests. Shameful, really.
This looks like an anti Iraq War protest.
Maybe from March 2008, based on the flags.
Wait... This isn't the back of bathroom line at Outside Lands?
Whatever it is, I am definitely for or against it as the case may be. Wholeheartedly. Really.
One stereotype is absent. The guy with the "Legalize Pot" sign that marches in any march that marches.
Not that I necessarily disagree, mind you. It's just that that dude isn't there.
Dude on the left: 'So pissed off I wore my leather jacket. Should've checked the weather on SFist..'
@joel: The protesters re Viet Nam had more of a stake in the war. Let a draft start and I guarantee you'll see an explosion of protests. Nothing gets asses out of seats like the possibility of getting those asses shot off.
spot on, bluecanary. spot on.
1. angry sister
2. angry brother with scowl and crossed arms
3. sensitive bearded white guy
4. unemployed former teacher in her fifties that cries herself to sleep every night.
5. a sign that says "Against"...blah, blah, blah.
I really don't recall when I took that photo, been awhile though. As expected when I tagged it, that Brock would find good use for it.
Angry sister? I thought the stereotype would just be her dreadlocklets.
Knit cap on the right could be a Food Not Bombs'er, but this image by no means captures all genres of protestor. Mid-20s hasbian, for one.
The percolating anger of a typical McCain audience.
@KeithFuckinMoon: I figured #2 was a subset of #1, and I also noticed professor-type (possible former hippie) older bearded white guy.
It really is a lovely day for a protest, isn't it?
What about the Socialist/Daily Worker types?
What about homeboy on the far right in the knit cap and sweater? I can't quite tell but it looks like hes twisted his scraggly beard into some kind of neck-dreadlock.
All those trees in the photo's background are currently big green and leafy at the Civic Center since it's summer and all. While this pic might have been uploaded to Flickr today, I dont' think it was taken today.
i think you might be onto something, davitydave.
So it's more of a "fauxto du jour."
I guess you missed my comment (#11) above that said the photo was taken awhile back.
Not enough matching t-shirts!
