Oh wow, it's a day full of protest fun here in Baghdad by the Bay. First, anti-uneven bars protesters, or what have you, are at Civic Center raising a ruckus. (Images to come.)
Above, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) are marching mad downtown. This afternoon the SEIU has at least two blocks worth of protesters walking through the Financial District/downtown. Chants in English and Spanish can be heard - with the most popular one being "no contract, no peace." Image above is looking East on Market with New Montgomery and Second Streets visible to the right and center, respectively.
Let it out, folks. Let it all out.

They only got one lane. The indignity.
Thanks, I wondered what the protest du jour was. I could hear it, "What do we want? *garbled* When do we want it? NOW." and "No *garbled*, no peace." I just couldn't see it.
Also, they should learn to enunciate.
Overheard: "Is this the line to get an iPhone?"
Just saw Post closed off by Franklin for the racist march. I mean, you have to march against them?
(yes, I'm joking. Yes someone would've asked)
This isn't a particularly effective protest if we don't know what they're protesting against. Maybe it's the elusive "downtown" that Chris Daly is always talking about?
How did you get that photo? It seems like it was taken from the roof of my old office building. Is "Brock" an alias for the doorman I talked to every day?
i work/live near there. i AM downtown!
Then go to Dave's now. You know you owe it to yourself.
"No contract, no peace"? That seems a bit lame. I'm not sure I shouldn't just organize a march through downtown tomorrow shouting "No sandwich, no peace."
mamcart, i will totally march with you chanting "no side salad, no peace!"
Wait! "No soda, no peace!" Politically relevant and refreshing!
