Folks out in the avenues sure have a beef, though. ... No shit. I live out on 43rd Avenue...to survive the morning and evening commutes on the N-Judah I make sure to have my Xanax prescription readily available on a daily basis. At least you get two car service! The E would be an interesting toy, but not a substitute for fixing the lines that run down the Market St subway.

I've taken the F several times. Down Market, it's not any faster or slower than the buses. But once you're out on Embarcadero, it's reasonably quick, and a beautiful, comfortable ride. I think the E line would be fantastic, even if they used both the Metro cars and the cool old streetcars.

good question ... living downtown, I consider myself lucky enough to be able to walk to work, so I only take Muni for leisurely trips, usually. Folks out in the avenues sure have a beef, though.

Sounds like a good campaign issue for a Supervisor candidate from an area that gets screwed by Muni f-ups all the time.

until you demand results from the driver's union leadership, and enforce them, this is what happens. until san franciscans demand better, they will pay more to get less. this is why we need to have some changes at muni.

And Muni wants to start-up the "E" line, yeah sure... when the metro gets delayed, there goes the historic trolley service! There's not enough of these damn cars and tourists are so stupid by not standing in the back, thereby giving at least five more people room to board.

i rode the f-market past the ferry building for the first time last night (showing friends around town) and i have never been on such a ludicrously crowded public transit vehicle in any country, ever. i was picturing the carnage that would ensue if there were a stampede. i feel for those poor injured tourists... leave it to muni to ruin their trip to the city.
