Thanks for the memories. Have lived in the vicinity over 17 years. We called that area Greater Crack Valley. Closer to the formerly decrepit Valencia Gardens, that area was known as Inner Crack Valley. Of course 16th & Mission was and still is Smack Valley. Cute nicknames in the nineties for the substance abusers used to be Crackette (F) and Crackelle (M) and Junkette (F) and Junkelle (M) and their signature territorial markings on other people's properties were called heron turds.

I messed up. This photo is actually from 1998, which would make me 19. Sorry, those days can be a little blurry at times. Also, Darin Back shot the photo.

bbrooks and sf bikebike: What a strange coincidence. Brian Tucci happens to be a really good friend of mine. He's back in Washington D.C. now and still rips. I actually just talked to him this morning. And you're right, Tucci can do all types of obscure wallie and wallride combos.

Also, Danny Sargent is still around. I just him a couple weeks ago at Potrero Del Sol. He was ripping, classic Sarge steez.

Wolf1: Mike Carroll's older brother's name is Greg. He runs Empire Distribution now. As for China Banks, damn, I haven't skated that spot in years. It's a HUGE bust now.

Used to skate/hang with Mikey Carroll and his older brother (whose name I just can't remember right now) @ Embarcadero back in the mid to late 80's. Bryce Kanights used to come around once in a while and take a few shots and show off a few tricks too...... Do the kids even skate China Banks these days??????

If we are talking wallies, don't forget Chris Cook and Brian Tucci(first person I saw do a wallie-boardside in 1987)
