In a public org like the City, there must be layer upon layer of unaccountability, incompitence, and entitlement. Add to that the borderline psychotic behavior that most sysadmins exhibit and you have shit like this occuring. Going from the private to the public sector is like stepping into the monkey house.

<description>&lt;p&gt;Zippy Monster, I agree w/ you that the post above was long on non sequitors and ad hominem attacks on the guy, but all of this could have been handled if he knew how to get along w/ people. 

The post you linked to kept saying that IT people treat a network like it&apos;s their baby. But it&apos;s not. And when the people who pay you want something, you give it to them. You can advise them that they&apos;re fucking up, but you don&apos;t pull a stunt like he did. 

Because then who&apos;s the baby?&lt;/p&gt;</description>
