Another Home-Invasion Assault Sets North Berkeley On Edge

Yesterday morning at around 4 a.m., a woman over on the 1600 block of Hearst Avenue in North Berkeley "was awakened by a man standing over her flashing a flashlight into her eyes and waving the knife," telling her he wanted her "to perform a sexual act on him," according to CBS 5. During the attack, the victim screamed, prompting the attacker to dart off and leave behind his shoes. Berkeley police think this latest attack is related to two other sexual assaults that have taken place in the area. The man is described as "a thin, muscular black man in his late-teens to early-20s, standing between 5 feet 5 inches and 6 feet tall," speaking with a "thick accent, possibly Jamaican." If you have an info on this most recent attack, you are urged to call Berkeley police at 510-981-5735 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
