you guys are way behind the times. Yes Walnut Creek has it's own bomb squad. Neiman Marcus would not come there if it didn't. It is now the best place to live in California and 95% safer than SF. So there!

I wish men under the age of 60 could pull off a fedora. But every time I see a guy younger than that wearing one, I have to admit, he looks a little dorky (although I'm sure you look ravishing, Orangedrink). And I know what my husband's getting for a gift when he hits the big 6-0. Of course, I wish women still wore gloves and hats, as well. Oh how I long for a simpler, more formally dressed time...

I'm guessing it wasn't just for giggles. Probably what happened is he misjudged the weight of the golden idol. (My fedoras only make middle aged women hit on me. I got called Cary Grant with a beard the other day by a woman who looked old enough to have given birth the Cary Grant. I don't think she could see anything beyond a beard and a hat)

ha! your wife rules! I couldn't agree more, SFX. Thanks! But, in my defense, it is a black pinstripe fedora. And I have a serious beard going right now. I've also been told my hat/beard combo makes me look like a hillbilly moonshiner and/or Amish. It's kinda like a Rorschach test. But, getting back to the actual story: this guy sounds like a choad. It's not nice to threaten Amtrak conductors and freak people out on a Monday.

But, for the record (acording to The Gate), he was wearing a "brown coat". Does this mean he's a Joss Whedon fan, too? as worn by old guys, creepy private detectives and middle-aged white guys whose wives told them it makes them look rakish. My wife thinks mine makes me look like a rabbi...
