Photos: AIDS Walk Nets Crazy Millions

(By Joe Kukura)

It was good times yesterday at the AIDS Walk San Francisco (expect for the parts where we were freezing our asses off, or sobbing at the AIDS Quilt). The annual event raised a whopping $4.5 million-plus for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, though you may wish to add to that total. As usual, the Bluegrassrave Backroom was on the spot -- operating a mobile whiskey bar and serving up endless complimentary whiskey shots to AIDS Walkers. Things quickly got blotto out there in Golden Gate Park, but the complete photoset is already up online. We’ve ripped off a few of them to illustrate just what an entirely down and fabulous time was had by all.

What do they need the money for? Just wondering.

the money goes to services and care, not a search for the cure or vaccination. i think. someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

In the content filter's defense, the first words on the bluegrassrave site are "Feast your eyes on the sordid parade of show-offs, sluts, and scat queens."

I want to be Frank Chu's vinyl letter '0' dealer.

@ matty matt: then why has SFist never been netted in that content filter? some of the most foul and filthiest (albeit the FUNNY-EST, as well) pictures and words in the English language are used and abused by Brock on almost a daily basis.

The only difference is that our parade of scat queens isn't sordid.
