Homeless pets. Your thoughts?

No pictures of them pooping?

Most of the homesless I have seen treat their pets better than the affluent. I'd much rather see a pet being cared for than put to sleep or on it's own in the street.

It's rabid. cute but rabid.

ok i admit it - i'd sooner give the kitty money that any human panhandler.

Don't spend it all on booze, hmmmkay?

as long as they don't feed the pigeons ...........

those are the strangest Doritos I have ever seen.

and that kitteh ain't gonna buy booze, I'm thinking crack or catnip.

Depends on who they're with. I've seen homeless kids, mostly in the Haight where I used to live, berating and kicking their dogs. On the other, I've seen people that treat their pets better than anything as they should -- they are companion, protector, non-judgmental unconditional lover and probably a boost in the coffee cup as well.

Once down at Powell, I saw a couple sitting outside a fast food place with their dog, asking for food or money. I went in, got three big cheeseburgers, went outside and handed them over and then went back in to eat (who wants a cold hamburger?) I watched as they fed two of those to the dog and split the other between them. I almost cried.

I happen to have some spare fancy feast for that kitteh.

I saw a homeless couple down by the cable car turnaround on California. It was cold and pouring rain out and the guy had taken off his jacket and was sitting there in a t-shirt holding the jacket over his dog.

I gave them every cent I had on me and went home bawling (discreetly).

If I saw anyone, homeless or otherwise, kicking their dog, someone would be bailing me out of jail.

OK, so I have to admit that the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture was lolcats.

Homeless cats cover their crap even when strung out on catnip.

I'm not a proponent of homeless people in SF having pets but I'm not really an opponent either. At least living in this city the homeless can get their animals medical care as part of the SF/SPCA's Pets of Homeless Program.

If the cat is really homeless a call to the SFSPCA would in order. Kitty needs to be taken care of.

(mmm... fancy feast)

by "taken care of" I mean of course given food, shelter and medical care.

Awwwww...I'd totally fall for that and give $. What an adorable fuzzbutt.

Pls put kibble on dorito bag pls kthxbai

I think I know this cat/hobo combo. The guy just chills a few yards away while his cat does all the dirty work. It's easy to tell who the owner is. Funny he's usually just across the street from the Macy's SPCA window displays during the holidays.
