I feel bad for her, but you just can't leave musical gear unattended at all, ever, and ESPECIALLY not at 8th & Mission. I don't care if you're from Alabama or the Bronx, there are enough indicators at that corner to let you know "Hey, maybe not the best place to leave thousands of dollars of gear unattended."

i agree with salsa, perhaps they got sidetracked after parking. my friend's band was touring and played in the mission last month. after the show we spent over an hour unloading their gear at 3 o'clock in the morning... and then loading it back up 5 hours later. you can't take any chances...

The charming post left on craigslist about this. Apparently we, the Bay Area, are crap. Sucks they lost the gear, but seriously, nice attitude. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/forums/?ID=95876920 My favorite part, the 'vatos' who are to blame for stealing the gear.

Sucks, for sure. But... I gotta say it... "Naively" doesn't START to cover it!! No musician with any clue about anything leaves gear unattended in a van parked on a public street?! That's some sweet gear too, and that's one super sketchy part of town-- something doesn't add up: they were smart enough to get a tour van from Alabama to Mission and 8th, but stupid enough to leave their van there?! Does not compute...
