SFist Tonight

393px-Pears.jpg

DATING: Those loopy dames over at Femina Potens are having a Queer Speed Dating night -- a bi-monthly benefit to increase visibility of women and transgendered artists -- which turns out not to be nearly as much fun as it sounded at first. Still, if you're a lonely fruit, head over to the Upper Market area tonight. Who knows? You might meet that special someone.

8 p.m. // Femina Potens Gallery (2199 Market Street) // $15

CLUB: Dubstep artists Kode 9, Hatcha, Maneesh the Twister, DJ Cyan, Subtek, Sam Supa, DJ Collage, and Emcee Child spin pretty drum 'n' bass ditties for your ballroom enjoyment. Also, free Red Stripe goes out to the first 100 guests! Read more about it here.

9 p.m. // Mezzanine (444 Jessie) // $18

MUSIC: Flamboyant vocalist/pianist Josh Fix comes home to put on a show.

9 p.m. // Red Devil Lounge (1695 Polk) // $5-8

Hmmm - sounds like someone couldn't score a date at Femina Potens. Bitter much?

much? try always.

also, it's a singles event. you don't bring a date.

Red Stripe at the drum n' bass show - why don't they just serve free malt liquor and fried chicken...I'm sure all the whities will dig the authenticity.

Also happening are:

the weekly Improv Music night
8pm, $6-12 sliding scale
the luggage store
1007 Market Street (nr 6th)

and

MUFF - Mission Underground Film Festival
8pm, $5 (call for limited seating)
Pirate Cat Radio
2781 21st Street @ Florida
