Why the hell can't we have Friday/Saturday/Holiday medallions to increase supply during increased demand? It's not cold-freaking-fusion.

The last two times I've attempted to escape Hayes Valley after dinner I've done so in a limo -- not because I'm a high roller, but because it was the only ride that offered to get me out of the neighborhood.

this was all part of Proposition A last year and was pretty clearly spelled out...cab companies in this town are so bad it's a joke...once again the City that Knows How has become the City That Can't. Even something simple like cabs cost a fortune and are never around when you need one, and the cab drivers are being forced to pay more and more just to work every day.

The irony of course is that it was the Mayor who put the idea of a Taxi Commission on the ballot, got it passed, then supported removing it as part of Prop. A.
