Breaking News: FTM Guy Gives Birth

Thomas Beatie, the with-child transgender male who stole the nation's heart on Oprah with his good looks and big baby beer gut, gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday. We repeat, the pregnant dude gave birth! That is all.

Congratulations! (honestly and no snark)

So, the Today Show ran a (very tasteful, Annie Liebowitz-y) picture this morning, and they showed his boobies. Seeing how he still got pregnant, were these bona fide Boobies!!! or just the kind of goin'-to-the-Home-Depot man-tits you see in pickup trucks all over Concord on hot days? The FCC wants to know....

wsanders-- I'm sure Focus on the Family or some other conservative group has already start a letter writing campaign!

He's not a dude. He's a woman. Dudes don't give birth. Sorry folks.

You are wrong, GefilteFish.

Look, it's a false set-up. It's like planting carrot seeds, putting up a sign in the dirt that says "Cucumbers" and then saying, "Oh my god!! The cucumbers have become carrots!" I'm willing to honor the deep, personal choice people make when they go through the process of becoming transgender, but I'm not willing to join in some fake frenzy over a "man" having a baby. It's just not true. And this cuts to the heart of what, I think, is the big issue a lot of people have with transgenderism. Despite whatever you believe and hope and think you are, you still have female organs. Where's the line?
