A dead, rabid bat was found in the Sunset District on Vicente Street near 32nd Avenue. Which brings up two points we must bring up. One, if any Sunset denizens fear that you or your pet may have touched the rabid creature, call 415-554-2830 for help. Two, argh! There are bats in the city of San Francisco! What's more, It seems one to five rabid bats are found in San Francisco each year. Scary.

There are far more rabid raccoons, possums and even dogs than bats, and more people are killed each year from dog bites than are killed in a decade by bat-transmitted rabies.
