Behold the Google Office Toilet

Made by Toto (no, not this Toto, but a swank Japanese company) , Google employees at their California offices can release their urine and evacuate their bowels like space-age kings using this ultra-modern and terrible chic toilet. Not happy with merely wiping, Google employees have the option to wash the rear area, wash the front area (something people should really do more often), dry, perform something called "wand cleaning," and so much more.

Sure, it's more than you've ever wanted to know about Google, but... well, you're welcome.

When will Home Depot start selling those Japanese toilets with a remote control?

Maybe I'm just prissy, but a bidet in your own home is one thing, but using a public one just skeeves me out for some reason. I know there's no logic to it, but eww.

call me old fashioned, but not sure how i feel about "wand cleaning." i dont need robotic help in that channel.

it would be cool if they could hook up wi-fi so i could twitter on the shitter, though.

There are enough buttons on that thing to have a billing number for time spent 'cleaning oneself'.

we used to have one in our office (not quite as deluxe a model) and it made the work day so much more enjoyable. you'll never go back to the brutal world of toilet paper.

btw, the "wand" refers to the stick that comes out which sprays the water, then retracts back inside to hide. is washes itself off so that nothing, um, sticks onto it. brilliant i tell you.

this reminded me of the episode of the simpsons when they goto Japan and Homer uses the high tech toilet, which not only cleaned him up but recommended "Americatown" restaurant for the family.

It reminded me of that summer reality program "I Survived a Japanese Gameshow" where one of the people entered their new home and was yelling out that the toilet had a remote control.

Needs more pictures of the bowl itself.

"Behold The Google Office Toilet Controller"

just looking at it makes me want to take a shit

Pfft, the real reason for that console is to hide the gloryhole.

An ingenious idea I might add.

This all come back to Brock's well-documented aversion to crotch rot.

Top notch, Google. This shows that you really care about your employees. My company provides the worst toilet paper that man ever created. How am I supposed to really clean up back there? Whoever came up with the idea to clean your backside with a dry piece of paper was cruel indeed.

Eeuuuww, who else has been touching that "Emergency Stop" button with their toiletty little fingers.

"toiletty little fingers."

heh.

Over here in SaBu in the Adam Grant Building we have better TP than I have at home. However, the custodian does fill up the hand soap dispensers with PineSol, so it's a tradeoff.

That industrial TP is terrible. Super thin, and rough as hell. Ever seen some of the rolls, sometimes they are HUGE!

That's an improvement over the ones in Japan, which didn't have English. I would just sort of press buttons and hope for the best!

I'm not sure that I would use the phrase "hope for the best!" with respect to my private parts. OTOH the Japanese are very good at cute little pictures that get the point across very well.

I already have a clean wand.

Toto is a company from Japan? I thought they were from GERMANY. Ever use a bathroom in Germany - always bleached clean

Is this going in at the SF offices or only at the Googleplex? Better ask my friend who works there. I mean, forget about the great food... I want to go by just to try out their fabulous toilets.

Judging from the tile, that one's in the SF office, but they're installed on most every toilet in the plex too. It's a nice perk, though the motivation may in part have been to reduce toilet paper consumption -- supposedly warming up a bit of water uses less energy/carbon/etc than goes into the paper production.
