Accident Shuts Down 880 In San Leandro, Kills Two

All but one southbound lane of Highway 880 in San Leandro has been shutdown after a big rig accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. this morning, near the Marina Blvd. exit. it seems that the big rig "crashed while attempting to avoid a vehicle fire," says CBS 5. In addition to fuel spilling across the northbound lanes, two people died during the crash. No word yet as to when it will reopen.

Holy fucking shit. I'm safely sitting here in SFO waiting for my flight to Seatac...

I tell you, 880 is the freeway most likely to be the scene of someone running over a length of rebar and impaling themselves through the roof of their car.

That is just one nasty freeway, what with the Oaktown girlz going 110 mph in the right lane, and then rapidly juking to the #1 lane doing 50 in their Altimas.
