Man, I moved from a suburb of Kansas City where fireworks were illegal (I think the "safe" kind might have been legal, but nobody sold them) to a part of Kansas where everything was legal, and now back to where it's banned again. Such a shame.

I've lived on the Peninsula for over 15 years, back when there were safe n' sane stands everywhere. Things have been much more dangerous since the ban. People are now setting off stuff that isn't legal anywhere without a license, like commercial grade skyrockets. Last year I saw one stand fall over and start shooting down the street at people and exploding under cars.

Well, the view from Bernal Hill overlooking the Mission is quite nice. Makes you feel like you live in a war zone.

When I lived by Ocean Beach, every weekend from July 4th until well into November someone would set off piccolo petes around 2AM. Very annoying.

The Ukrainian Village in Chicago has the same type of display that the Mission has; not that this will help anyone here.

The best place for fireworks in the Mission is Alabama street, between 21st and 23rd - stay at least 1/2 block away with a clear view of the sky. They often have mishaps.

11 pm curfew? That's when it generally ends anyway! Jesus, when is Pacifica going to get it together and formally organize a fireworks on the beach thing?
