Early this morning at around 1:10 a.m., an unidentified woman, 36, was shot while waiting in her car at a stop sign on the 1500 block of Shafter Avenue in Bayview. No word yet as to why.
The shooting victim was rushed to SF General and is in stable condition. No arrests have been made. Of course.
This shooting comes on the heels of Sunday's alleged road rage shooting in the Excelsior, which took the life of Anthony Bologna, 48, and his son Matthew Bologna, 13. If you have info on either shooting, this morning's or Sunday's, please call the SFPD's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444. In fact, just program the number in your cellphone right now; you're sure to need it at some point with the way crime in San Francisco is climbing.

Oh my! Was it "gang related"?
The stop signs in the Bayview are all in French?
Was the car running? People can get pretty upset about extra emissions.
Cars = death. In way more ways than one. It's amazing how some of my most mild mannered friends turn into complete angry psychopaths once they get behind a wheel.
And knowing the SFPD, they'll probably claim she shot herself and then mysteriously got rid of the gun before cops could arrive.
i wonder how hard it would be to outfit cars with bullet-proof glass?
The Chronicle says the kid was 20 and his name was Michael Bologna. 16-year-old Matthew is at General in stable condition.
The gang related question is relevant too. You are more likely to be murdered by someone you know rather than a total stranger. I had a friend killed in a gang related crime and he knew the person. Being in the gang made him more susceptible to violence, period.
On a kinda related note, did y'all read about soccer legend Pele being robbed while sitting in his car, stuck in a traffic jam in Brazil? The same article I read mentioned that it is common for well to do Brazillians to have bullet proof cars. Yikes. Ya just never know ...
