It's great that people are willing to freeze, starve and die on the streets for our purposes. Go us!

Yeah, everyone feels like they have a vested interest in the city, but the homeless *own* the streets. I wouldn't allow someone to drive that truck through my living room either.

Having been physically assaulted by a homeless guy (and never a member of the God Hates Fags ministry, even though they hate me), I'm a bit ambivalent on the issue. However, once in Berkeley a driver ran a stop sign and almost hit me. When I waved him on, melodramatically, he started yelling at me. Unlucky for him, the Berkeley homeless guy on the corner absolutely unloaded a flurry of profanity on the driver. To the rescue, indeed.

I live right @ Civic Center & have to say most of the homeless are friendly & nice (with a few exceptions). It helps to have a VERY friendly dog like I do: Fred "Freddy Mercury" - alot of them, in spite of their substance abuse, remember him/ us. They're harmless & if they were harrasing the Haters that were out in full force yesterday good for them!

I always think of my fav. ol' disco song: 'There but for the Grace of God' (Machine)

three cheers for the homeless, most down to earth people with the biggest hearts walking the streets of SF.
Hug a homeless today!
