When I read this headline I thought the story would be that he was actually spotted in Oakland. The guy's ALWAYS out of town. He promised he'd only be a 9-5 mayor, and that's exactly what Oakland got.

Wasn't Newsom in Hawaii during the Cosco Busan disaster? Maybe there's something going on in Oakland right now! (Well, something other than your generic street traffic mayhem or homicides.)

If I were the mayor of Oakland, I would try to get as far away as possible too. I hear his next sighting is Tahoe, followed by Denver then on to Chicago.

Yeah, he can wear a suit. But Karen Bass was probably (politely) trying to explain that the elder-statesman shtick isn't flying and that he better get his act together or he'll find himself out of office after one term. What a disappointment of mayor he's turned out to be.
