Car Crash Acrobatics On Duboce

2568090409_d1ddb26af7.jpg

Greg Dewar of NJudahChronicles seems to be everywhere lately. Check out the latest gem he snapped up today over on Duboce and Church.

This car flipped over while attempting a left turn...according to eyewitnesses it seems the driver may have had a seizure during the turn, and it careened into the tree and flipped. Eyewitnesses who helped while awaiting the ambulance said that the driver was fairly safe as she had her seatbelt on, but they didn't want her to get out of the car until the paramedics arrived.

Holy smokes! We do hope the driver is in good condition. The poor dear.

Also, as dantc asks, how do cars get so much speed on city streets to flip over like that? Seems like to have the feeling the need for speed to turn over like that, yes?

fail.

I live in Duboce triangle and I'm constantly amazed by the douche bag ass holes that drive through it on 14th street and Duboce street as though they were fucking speedways to Castro/Divis.

It's a residential neighborhood with many families, and elderly people in it. Slow the fuck down assholes.

Oh, and limp wristed gays.

and your mom.

Brock.

Geez ... how fast do you need to go to flip your car over? I spotted one on its side on The Embarcadero near Brannan on Sunday while riding the N-Judah wagon home after getting a taste of COuntry music at the ballpark.

I believe that left turn is illegal too. Who was driving, Carole Migden?

from talking to folks on the scene, it was a combo of speed but also hitting that tree at such an odd angle it pushed the car into a sort of spiral flip. one of those one in a million types of things.

another witness indicated that someone had to dive out of the way of the car, as that is where many people wait for the train.

The forces of physics are also involved. The torque from the engine helps to entirely flip the automobile. This is usually more observable in flatbed trucks since there is more unweighted area that the engine torque can play out on, but it also occurs in every other car.

The morning traffic report mentioned a flipped taxi on northbound 101 at SFO. Is Carole driving cab, too?

The left from Church onto Duboce is indeed hella illegal, but from the location of the photo/crash I'm gonna have to say the left was from Duboce onto Fillmore.

Yep- illegal.

It can be scary around Duboce, even for drivers. Both ends of Walter St have very limited lines-of-sight. Plus, I'm pretty sure I'm going to die by attempting the left turn from Scott to Duboce, because no one ever, ever stops at those stop signs. I swear, when my car's on its last legs, I'm gonna give it an honorable death, getting t-boned by one of those assholes.

The turn from Duboce left onto Fillmore is illegal. You can see the signs on Google Street View.
