this was most likely a marketing event for lucasarts new game - star wars: force unleashed. after letting over 100 employees go last week they must have called in the troops to make sure there wasn't any problems from the rebellion.

Saw them on the way to work this morning outside the Letterman building in the Presidio. You can see exactly where if you click on the "map" button on flickr. I went back at lunch to see if I could get some better shots, but they're not there anymore. I asked a few people why they were there and nobody seemed to know. I can only assume they were preparing for some kind of attack by the rebel alliance. Let's be vigilant, people.
