Moving On Up: Misfiled Hysteria Over SFGate Comments In the Tips Section Moved

Things are getting prickly over in the anonymous tips section -- which, as you all well know, should be reserved for delicious tidbits of info only -- so we moved the discussion over here.
Someone, it seems. got all Cathy about having their pearls of wisdom removed over at SFGate on a story about yesterday's sudden retirement of San Francisco Zoo Director Manuel Mollinedo. Said someone posted a URL, which is fine and most encouraged, but then people responded. So? We're moving it over here.
You're welcome.
Oh, and here's what went down:
Extreme censorship on the Chron's comment page for the zoo story: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article/comments/view?f=/c/a

oh get over yourself, the chronicle is a privately owned business, they can allow or disallow whatever the heck they want on their site. you are not entitled to free server space on a private server, don't like it get your own.

agreed.

We've been trolling the sfgate and chron comments for some months now. They finally got a moderator now from the looks of it.

Considering the quality of the Chron comments, it's a wonder they let anyone post. Same goes for SFist.

Sure, its a private space. But what did they really censor is the big question. Some got nailed for just saying that the zoo manager should have been put in jail, and then later posted it again without getting censored. That sounds like bullshit to me.

Have at it.

Our cesspool is better than their cesspool.
I agree with everyone today. All sides are correct. I'm just in an unusually good mood.
the worst thing about the zoo today is the state of the concession stands. the people behind the counter show you first hand what a failure our public schools have been. these kids can't count, can't write down your order correctly and can't speak english. unbelievable!
the rest of the zoo is just fine. good riddance to bad management. it will only get better.
I had three buffalo grass martinis at the world dance fest - and left before they started ethnically dancing - then vodka tonics at marlene's until I was asked to leave (I was dancing) and ended up at grubstake. There might have been a lap dance or two along the way. And some girl offered my bf a bj.
the zoo sucks since it was privatized. I blame Don Fisher for everything crummy in SF including my hangover.
Why is this supposed to be interesting?
Also, buffalo grass martini = gross.
it's not, really. but i needed to move the discussion. (don't get used to it, readers.)
also, what is that? too lazy to find out myself.
What's a buffalo grass martini? Can you ferment buffalo grass into alcohol?
People go to zoos?
