It's Got to be the Morning After
-Mets 5 Giants 3 Hey, what's up with Matt Cain? How could one guy who was so dominant for two years slip like he's done? Were the previous few years just an illusion? Is he just having one of those years? Or did that torturous season he had last year where he pitched brilliantly and still managed to lose most of his games due to a case of bad offense and relief pitching give him the yips? One has to wonder if he's putting a little too much pressure on himself, worried that any single run he gives up would be the game right there? If that's the case, SFist would like to send out to him the official "Cheer Up, Little Buckeroo."
-A's 10 Tigers 2- The A's finished up a sweep of the bottom Tigers with yesterday's victory and, yes, go A's! but we have to admit to feeling a bit blue about the demise of this season's Tigers. They're an old school franchise with great uni's with a long history of failure which makes them easier to like, but we mainly dig them because they're a mid-market franchise whose owner, the crazy Catholic Domino's guy doesn't seem to care about money and is throwing it around left and right and center and back again in order to win. Gotta respect that.
-One bad sign for SF officials hoping to lure the Niners back to the city-- every year the York's have a lunch date with the SF Chamber of Commerce and this year, the York's had, err, other plans and skipped out. Let's hope they don't show up at the same restaurant with the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce because that would be awkward.
-So who are we rooting for in the NBA Finals? One the one hand we have the Celtics, yet another team from Boston that's competing for a title and the last thing we want is one more thing for people from New England (and all the people who pretend their from New England) to be happy about. On the other hand, the Lakers come from LA. We also just plain don't like, Kobe (the fact that he played for our rival High School team has NOTHING to do with it). We're kind of hoping the Lakers win, but the Celtics refuse to acknowledge that they lost and send out a press release saying that they're still the better team and that they'll need some time to consider their options before conceding.

Lakers!!!
actually, crazy domino's guy tom monaghan sold the tigers back in like 1992. it's easy to confuse because he sold them to michigan's other main pizza magnate, mike ilitch, who isn't a big religious dude but does like to throw money around at his midmarket team. he's a big fixture in michigan, maybe a little under the radar out here i don't think little ceaser's pizza is as ubiquitous as domino's..
he also owns the red wings who btw won a little thing called the stanley cup last night.
i kind of hate the lakers and the celtics out of principle but i think it's gonna be a great series.
So who are we rooting for in the NBA Finals?
Racists over Rapists in six.
DJTennesseee...oh so wrong!
@ megang
The baseless innuendo, or the fact that I am picking Boston?
