-So with the passage of Prop. G., a Proposition designed to try and keep the Niners in San Francisco, the question now is what the hell does it mean? Maybe something, maybe nothing. The whole thing has to be built and the Niners haven't made a decision as to where they're going to move. Even worse for the Niners is that with the economy as it is, it's even harder to convince some place to build them a stadium as there's not a lot of money to throw the team's way. Why should a city give a team money to build a stadium when they have no money to throw around? And it's not just a problem the Niners' face, but the A's too.
-Which is why there are a lot of rumors that the Niners are looking way south, a lot south, and are eyeing LA.
-As are the Raiders
-And what about Brisbane? Brisbane?
-Barry Zito stunk up the joint again as he and Vinnie Chulk gave up eight runs in the 5th inning, causing the Giants to lose 9-6 to the Mets. At this point Zito, a really nice guy, is like the loser friend in your circle who you keep on rooting for to turn their life around-- not the least of which is because he keeps on borrowing money
-Eric Chavez (remember him?) hit a three run home run and knocked not-so-Pudgy-Rodriguez down at a play at home to help the A's win in extra innings, 5-4, against the Tigers. In the 11th, Jack Cust came up with bases loaded to get the game-winning hit.
-There are rumors that Sharkie Patrick Marleau is headed to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a trade. Dear God, how would you feel if there were rumors that you were going to be sent from beautiful San Jose to Columbus Ohio? We'd retire.
