I'm not sure how clear cut this would be. Even if this passes and becomes part of the constitution, it would still conflict with the equal protection clause as previously interpreted.

The fundies will try it every single election year, just like they do with the parental notification ballot measures. They will never, EVER go away.

Jesus Christ himself could return to Earth wearing chaps and it wouldn't shut the fundies up. More modest goal -> Let's work our asses off to defeat this measure by a large enough measure that they will think twice before wasting money to put it on the ballot again. Lets let everyone know that California is better than that.

Exactly. Why anyone would vote for this, so we could be lumped in with the bigoted jesus freak states who have amended their constitution this way, is beyond me.
