Mark Leno and Carole Migden, please step forward.
For their final photos, Leno and Migden chose to use the exact same pose and message in order to win your votes in next week's California State Senate race. Both employed an Obamaesque "change" catchphrase. Not only that, but each of them also used a forceful but benign arms-crossed pose. The only difference that set the two apart here are soft shades of blue and orange.
So which overproduced ad campaign shot do you prefer: Leno's or Migden's?

And here I thought the best choice for change was the Coinstar machine at Safeway...
At least they are not using that lame-ass phrase "Agent of Change."

Of course, the basic difference is that Mark Leno has been talking about "change" long before Barack Obama made it the cool thing to be this election.
Meanwhile, Carole Migden was saying "I am the status quo" at their first debate: http://www.beyondchron.org/news/index.php?itemid=4400
Migden seems to think her "experience" makes her the best "agent of change." That didn't work for Hillary Clinton.
I've been meaning to bring this up for the past two weeks-- doesn't Midgen look exactly like an older version of Jonathan Lipnicki when he was in "Jerry McGuire".
Brock, do us all a favor and post a picture of them side by side for comparison.
I always thought carole looked like senator palpatine....
icbalaam, you are SO right.
Points deducted from Carole for the Hillary-derived coif and Nehru jacket. On the other hand, she's been using that image since way back when Hillary was riding high in the polls, so maybe that was her intention.
Points deducted from Leno for the letterman sleeves and JoeNationesque background. But then again, maybe that was his intention, too. Maybe Leno was purposefully trying to blur distinctions with Nation in the minds of North Bay voters during the final stretch.
Leno's got the solar panels in the background. I gotta give him credit for that.
Migden? Ha! She still deserved to be convicted of DUI.
Can anyone tell me how to spoil my ballot on this race without screwing up all my other votes the big piece of paper. Voting in the UK it was easy cos you just scrawl whatever abuse you feel like on the ballot and pop it in the box, but here I'm afraid of getting kicked back by the poll workers when it goes in the scanner.
Neither. They're both stupid and annoying. What kind of change comes from the same ol, same ol these two fools represent? Plus, nice unoriginal campaign slogans. Someone should tell Barry that they're infringing upon his trademark.
I always read that crossed arms is a defensive pose, so I cannot understand why either would choose to be photographed that way.
Leno's, but only by a hair. He appears slightly more natural doing the arm-crossing thing than Midgen here, but his expression says "I'm watching my kid play little league" and not so much being an agent of change.
I 3rd icbalaam's observation...
So who else got that "wedding invitation" mailer from Migden? Tackiest ad ever y/n?
I know nothing about either candidate, but I can't help but thing that Migden wants to change California to be 100% Christian with that ad.
My roommate and I got that Carole Migden wedding invite too, with both of our names on it. We're both gay, so I was left to wonder how she had targeted us, heh. Totally tacky.
Anyway, I'm totally voting for blue, I mean, for Leno.
Could someone please just make Carol Midgen stop mailing me flier every day? How many trees must die for Carol to get elected? The amount of junk mail alone has made me vote for Leno.
Just vote some sort of write in, Ciaran. Bart Simpson is an old standby.
